Sermon 27th August

A Sermon by Martin Harris on the theme 'Cleopas and the Stranger'. The Bible passages was Luke 24:13-35 (the story of the Road to Emmaus). Some study questions:

Why did the disciples not recognise Jesus? What made their eyes open? Why did Jesus disappear so quickly? Can you think of other encounters with strangers where hosts have ‘entertained angels unaware’.

10th December - Giftings Fair

We are all treasures in Christ. The reading was Ephesians 4:1-13. This was introductory to the Giftings Fair. The event was hit by the snow, and there may be the occasional hint.

Martin's talk at the St Paul's Christingle Christmas Eve 2017.  Science has restored to us a sense of awe. It has reached the limits of observation.  It has opened our eyes and minds and so we can come afresh to the Christmas story - and wonder.
